The eiFamilies website is an activity of the Family Initiative Coordination Services Project Enhancement at the Just Kids Foundation. The Family Initiative Coordination Services Project is sponsored by the New York State Department of Health Bureau of Early Intervention. Enhancement activities were supported with funds from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act 2009 (ARRA).
The Just Kids Foundation is the non-profit arm of Just Kids Early Childhood Learning Center and Just Kids Diagnostic and Treatment Center.Just Kids Early Childhood Learning Center (http://www.justkidsschool.com)is a private preschool program for young children - disabled and non-disabled, birth to five years of age. Just Kids Early Childhood Learning Center is licensed to provide preschool special education programs and services under Section 4410 of the Education Law. The Just Kids Diagnostic and Treatment Center, a licensed Article 28 facility, is approved by the New York State Department of Health Early Intervention Program to provide ongoing service coordination, evaluation, and early intervention services.
Margaret Sampson is the Coordinator of the Family Initiative Coordination Services Project and Project Enhancement. Margaret is the mother of four adult children. Margaret is passionate about early intervention services because she knew her daughter needed additional supports as an infant, but such services were not available at that time. Liz Muller is the Project Assistant for the Family Initiative Coordination Services Project. Liz has worked at Just Kids for 12 years. Her daughter Megan is in a doctoral program and wants to work with children with disabilities. Liz is committed to supporting families and is the friendly and caring voice that families hear when they contact the Family Initiative Project.
